The model has replaced the diesel engine with 2.0 litre BS6 compliant petrol engine with enhanced specifications
In the middle of 2018, the Volvo XC40 commenced its step in the Indian automobile market upgrading the statement of luxury-SUV. Just with the launch, it acquired a position with a price of Rs 39.90 lakhs formulated with a diesel engine and R variant design structure.
Within the course of 18 months, the brand comes with the modification and upgrade of the same model. As you already know from 1st April, all automobiles – two-wheelers and four-wheelers need to be upgraded to BS6 norms. Finally, the brand has launched its 2020 Volvo XC40 in India for quite a time now.
Well, the difference between the price and the specifications has not undergone many changes. Rather there are modifications as well as enhancement in the BS6 norms with 2.0-litre diesel motor meeting the petrol engine compliance. But is the upgrade worth the purchase for you?
At Autonmobiles.com, we are going to feature our first ride review on the all-new 2020 Volvo XC40 model. To begin with, let’s just compare in terms of the old vs new.
The outlook of the new model is the same as the 2018 one. It has got the tag of the Compact Modular Architecture Platform.
To feature in the new sections where the larger ones are something to lay your eyes onto. Like the overall dimension and clearance has got more of a handsome structure to fall for. As stated before, the design and outlook of the new 2020 XC40 have not been under so many changes.
You will see a little off-guard in the wheelbarrow featuring 18-inch alloy wheels. The Swedish brand’s new SUV model has therefore acquired the same sort of outlook without working on the design or variation.
Delving into the interior specification of the all-new 2020 XC40, we figured out some of the changes. As per the latest car review, we have seen quite a lot of updates and upgrades.
The organe cabin in the previous model is no longer seen in the new model. Rather the ventilation space has not been fitted in there.
The new black-insistent driving space has been well adjusted featuring the huge panoramic sunroof. So, if you are fanatic of the same, you will not leave a chance for peaking out.
Getting to the soundbox system, the fusion of the bass and jazz range from 600W 14-speaker Harman-Kardon. So, it has got a subwoofer placed right behind the dashboard. The music system is indeed something well to delve into.
The seating arrangement is formulated with Nappa Leather seats and has got all black carpet flooring.
Other specifications or features include 12.3-inch instrument display, the hardware is the same as the older model, 9-inch vertical touch screen.
Something new that you will be able to notice in the new 2020 Volvo XC40 is the enhancement in the luxury. The touchscreen and controls, knobs and vents, all of them have got the modification to create and give that premium touch to the car.
Delving into the other specifications of the interior side, you will come across the placement of wireless charging pad situated in the centre console. So, that becomes a plus point, no hassle with the wires anymore.
This could be simply done through Android Auto and also Apple CarPlay. Passending in the car will be able to experience a relaxing ride. Till the time is not bulky people who acquire quite a weight, it is better to go smooth.
Well, as far as it comes with storage features and spacing, the new model can easily hold iPad, tablet, notebook, textbook and even water bottle. The spacing area is quite something to look at when you need something right at one go.
The centre of the car has spacing too for hand equipment and spacing. That works as a good catch too.
Rear seating spaces have got a wide arm-rest and there are also rear door pockets. You can even find storage options in the interior of the car. Every segment of the car has got clear provision for keeping the things that will work as then go-to storage option inside the car.
The 432-litre boot has got the safe process for a long period of time nearly covering good areas of the segregated spaces. The folding platform mainly helps in doubling the partition.
Apart from the same, there are shopping bag spacing that will help in storing long and big things for storage right near you. A small window is formulated right at the centre of the seat for storing long and narrow sized objects to be handier.
There is an automatic button facility for the storage option to make it handier. This makes it easier for the long process to get it further and focused.
You will find there is a segmented wise implemented radar-based driver-assist system.
There is also the formulation of Frontal Collision Mitigation Support, Whiplash Protection right on the front seats, Lane Keeping Aid, Adaptive Cruise Control, airbags on all sides.
Obviously that the car is a BS6 compliant engine. It features 2.- litre petrol engine delivering about 190 hp of power and 300 Nm of torque.
The turbo turn around the facility is nearly 2500 rpm featuring 8-speed automatic transmission and also has Dynamic mode.
There are different other modes in the car – Off-road, Eco and Comfort. There are braking features and other safety characteristics seen already.
Well, in the first place the petrol switch from the diesel one has been a negative segment for the people who are attracted to the brand. The ideology in terms of performance and delivery is quite appreciated. The fusion of the combined nature along with the 8-speed gearbox is not that up to the mark. The new value for the enhanced specification and modification could be the catch for the new model in the market.
