After unending leaks and promos of being the better for the good, bad or even the brilliant, both models Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10 Plus have been launched in the market. It has been the first time where Samsung has split the two models. And trust us when we say this, the differences are visible.
Here is everything that you should know before making your decision –
The very basic difference between Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10 Plus are their physical display sizes. You will be able to visualize it all by yourself.
Galaxy Note 10 comes with 6.3 inches dynamic AMOLOED+ display. With 1080*2280 pixels which are nearly 90.9 percent screen to body ratio, the screening of the same is powered with Gorilla Glass 6. It has a density f 401ppi and HDR 10+
On the other hand, with a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED+ display, Galaxy Note 10+ too has Gorilla Glass 6. It has 1440 x 3040 pixels (91% screen-to-body ratio) and 498 PPI density.
Well, you can say that Note 10 Plus is humongous while Note 10 is just 0.1 inches smaller than Note 9. As you get to know about the pixels of Note 10, you will observe that there is not much difference in the PPI. It comes with the added glass screening of Gorilla Glass 6. It has improved from scratch and impacted the resistance in comparison to Gorilla Glass 5 on Note 9.
Samsung has always been promising with brighter and vivid displays in comparison to last year. The reduction in blue light is kind of a more practical benefit for you. The physical headline charges pierce through a central punch-hole for the front-facing camera. It does through the delivering of the industry-high screen to body ratios.
Apart from the same, you are presented with an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint reader. And you will find the same exactly in Galaxy S10. Also, we have visualized the Samsung has enhanced the haptic feedback motor. It is on both the models. So, you get to experience the enhanced vibration feedback but obviously, you have to pay for a price.
Taking of the setback, the model does not support a high refresh rate display. OnePlus (90Hz), Razer (120Hz) and Google (90Hz) are aboard this bandwagon. It tends to promote you with the way smoother performance than the standard 60 Hz panels of the other phones. This also includes the new Note models. It is a disappointing factor.
The punch-hole cameras bring a striking change to the New Note Models. It has got a beneficial impact on their dimensions.
Galaxy Note 10 – 151 x 71.8 x 7.9 mm (5.94 x 2.83 x 0.31 in), 168 g (5.93 oz)
Galaxy Note 10+ – 162.3 x 77.2 x 7.9 mm (6.39 x 3.04 x 0.31 in), 196 g (6.91 oz)
Galaxy Note 9 – 161.9 x 76.4 x 8.8 mm (6.37 x 3.01 x 0.35 in), 201 g (7.09 oz)
Though they have big screens, both models are more compact than their predecessors. Having a 6.3-inch display, Note 10 weight nearly 33g lesser than 6.4 inch Note 9. Around the same time, Note 10 Plus users will have the bonus changes of acquiring the 0.4 inches of display for no significant size or weight penalty. And what you gain? It is a win-win situation.
When talking about the degrading aspect, both models have loosened their headphone jack. The brand has finally buckled up with the industry pressure which is a blessing in disguise for the users.
Note 10 further has to drop microSD feature but you will find the same on the Note 10 Plus. Samsung is trying its best to enthuse the power users to the bigger model for sure. And yes, it is more expensive! The power buttons have changed too. The Bixby button is removed. There is the integration of a customizable power button though. The water resistance remains to the usual IP68.
The finishing impact for the Samsung models comes with an iridescent Aura of colours. It is kind of similar to the mirror multi-coloured finishes. This you can visualize in the Huawei’s phones. The look and feel are amazing. They have highly reflective fingerprint magnets. When it comes to availability, there is a little difference –
Note 10 comes in 3 colours which are namely Aura Glow, Aura Black and Aura Pink
Note 10+ also comes in 3 colours which are namely Aura Glow, Aura Black and Aura White
Coming to the Cameras, both are Triple As Standard.
Talking of the cameras, the differences are not that much as much you are expecting it to be.
The front camera for both the models is 10 MP. The lens is like 26mm wide, has dual pixel PDAF with 1.2 µm. It has got the specification of 4k video recording.
Let us be more specific with the rear camera –
12 MP, f/1.5-1.8-2.4, 27mm (wide), 1/2.55″, 1.4µm, Dual Pixel PDAF, OIS, 12 MP, f/2.1, 52mm (telephoto), 1/3.6″, 1.0µm, AF, OIS, 2x optical zoom, 16 MP, f/2.2, 12mm (ultrawide), 1.0µm, 4K video recording (Note 10+ – TOF 3D VGA camera)
The myriad of the spec is immaculate. But the key factors that delve in are the rear cameras. It tends to remain unchanged from the Galaxy S10. This includes the primary, telephoto and 123-degree wide-angle. In Note 10, there is an addition of a Time of Flight sensor which you will find in Galaxy S10 5G. The ToF sensor acquires the distance for the improvement of the autofocus times. And this is prominent in low light.
The degrading feature is having the same primary rear camera module. It has been the same since Galaxy S7. But Samsung has improved the image processing post that. The video recording functionality is 4k 60 fps which is available both on the front and back. It has also got the option to add Portrait Mode-style bokeh effects.
We are still stuck to the front camera. The new Note models make use of the same 10MP sensor just like S10 range. Though Galaxy S10 Plus has the dual camera option, these models are well seen of the Portrait Model working for selfies.
Here is some of the contention to look forward to –
EMEA – Exynos 9825 Octa (7 nm), CPU: Octa-core (2x 2.73 GHz Mongoose M4 & 2x 2.4 GHz Cortex-A75 & 4×1.9 GHz Cortex-A55), GPU: Mali-G76-MP12
US, China – Qualcomm SDM855 Snapdragon 855 (7 nm), CPU: Octa-core (1×2.8 GHz Kryo 485 & 3×2.4 GHz Kryo 485 & 4×1.7 GHz Kryo 485), GPU: Adreno 640
While Europe gets an updated version of the Exynos 9820 chipset that is used in Galaxy S10 phones, other countries like the US and China will not have the advantage of acquiring Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855+ chipset. It tends to deliver an enhanced 15 percent graphic boost and has exemplary CPU performance.
Do not think this is just the end. The Snapdragon 865 is going to be launched early next year. Samsung is claiming to install the new ‘cooling vapour chamber’ in both the models. It helps the phone to not get heated up and avoid disturbance in the performance.
The Note 10S have got the next-gen UFS 3.0 storage. It is quick in comparison to UFS 2.1 storage in the Galaxy S10 lineup and RAM is good. The Note 10 acquires 8GM while Note 10 Plus gets 12GB. The Note 10 Plus will get the functionality of 5G option, waiting for it to see.
When it comes to software, the changes are of the S Pen. The addition of the implementation of accelerometer promotes “Air” action. This will let you control the phone’s screens through making gestures in the air. Example – Swipe through photos with a flick, drawing circles to zoom in and out with the camera, etc.
As the big battery capacity has increased from last year’s Note 9. With the launch of the two new models, the charge speeds are as follows –
Galaxy Note 10 – 3500 mAh, 25W fast charging, 20W wireless charging
Galaxy Note 10+ – 4300 mAh, 45W fast charging, 20W wireless charging
Note 10 does not support 45W charging. Note 10 Plus does have a 25W charger in the box. The brand will charge separately for a 45W charger. The company states that the 45W is super fast and can deliver the full-day battery life within 30 minutes. It has also boosted its wireless charging facilities which is impressive and has also implemented wireless charging.
Here is the listing of the price range of the two Note models –
Galaxy Note 10 – Rs. 63999
Galaxy Note 10+ – Rs 79,999
You can order both the phones online. The popular online platforms like Amazon, Croma, Flipkart has launched the models online. You can review through the showrooms to garner a clear view of the same before making your decision.
Samsung has done a great job when it comes in terms of the launch of the Note models. The new enhancement is the models is worth the complement. And we are eagerly waiting for the Samsung S 11 with no S Pen but enhanced specifications at the same time.
