The reputed brand, Tata Motors recently launched the Nexon EV price starting at Rs 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom). As the days are moving forward, the brand is all set to launch 4 new electric cars in India in the course of 24 months. The first electric SUV car – Nexon EV becomes the most affordable model in comparison to other rivals.
As per the latest car news India, TATA Sons’ Chairman, N Chandrasekaran disclosed the company’s EV strategy related to the 2 SUVs launching in the coming 24 months. The upcoming models that are going to be launched in India are – 2 SUVs, a Hatchback and a Sedan. The Tata Motor’s new Ziptron Technology is formulated in the upcoming electric cars but the launch dates have not yet been confirmed.
N Chandrasekaran has not yet revealed any details. Though, the upcoming Altroz EV is slated to launch in 2021. President of Electric Mobility Business and Corporate Strategy, Tata Motors, Sailesh Chandra confirmed on the production of the EV bikes and cars earlier in January 2020. All the disclosed that the launch of the cars might be during the first half of 2021.
The upcoming electric versions of the car have been showcased in Auto Expo 2020. It is mainly a micro-SUV with a fusion of combustion-engine and electric version. The Tata Altroz EV has been featured at the 2019 Geneva motor show which is expected to be on sale somewhere around 2020.
Another SUV could be the electric version of the Harrier. The upcoming launches will be completely based on the brand new ALFA architecture. On the other hand, the Altroz EV throws light on enhanced performance and reaping additional benefits for the hatchback.
Tata Motors’ upcoming sedan is still not unveiled. The automaker brand has given some teaser of the concept which was professed at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. We can think it as a compact sedan which might give a good competition to the Honda City, Hyundai Versa and their sister models.
