So finally Okinawa has launched its new electric scooter in India, the Praise Pro. And here we are presenting you with the review of the newly launched scooter. Is it worth the daily ride that you are looking for? Let’s delve into it!
One of the most prominent two-wheeler brands in India, Okinawa Autotech has enhanced its activities when it comes to launching its new products. The company has finally launched its very new model, the Okinawa PrisePro in India. It is known to be the 3rd model to the “Praise” versions.
Speaking of the positioning, the PraisePro comes in between the other models of the “Praise” version. It is the base model and the iPraise has been considered as the top-spec model in the line-up. With the launch of PraisePro, Okinawa’s electric scooter range has gone to 7 models available in India. We are having a small overview of the same to understand how this new model is going to feature for the daily ride. Here is what we have our analysis on!
The specification of Okinawa electric scooters has been the conventional design to their scooters. And this goes the same for the PraisePro as well. The front apron has a packed up back design that comes with a V-shaped LED headlamp.
Not only this, it has got daytime running lights which has been implemented on the sides of the apron. The handlebar is placed on the indicated along with the formulation of a red and black colour scheme. This tends to present the electric scooter with a sporty kind of a look.
When you are viewing the same in the first glance, the thing that will acquire your attention is the high floorboard. It does pave way for a cramped riding position. The red and black fusion of the colours is implemented here as well. Also in the side panel culminating into a neat tail section through blacked-out grab-rails.
And what really has turned on our attention is the Aluminium alloy wheel design in the front. We really have been hoping that the rear wheel to acquire the same design. So, when it comes to the overall looks and wheel, PraisePro is quite better among the Okinawa’s line up.
There are good points to discover when it comes to features onboard the Okinawa PraisePro. To commence with, there is a fully digital instrument console that showcases the speed, battery levels, trip and odometer. There is the obvious implementation of typical tell-tale light and LED lighting to add with.
When you reach the displays, here too you will be able to see the battery level. It does not present you with the remaining range in Kilometres though which is kind of a setback, we believe. The other thing that made us a little aback for the PraisePro was the fit and finish. Also, the quality of the plastic that was put to use.
It could have a look of a premium feel to it. Kudos to the battery this time, the scooter does not have any under-seat storage. All of the same has been up by the battery
The only stowage that the scooter has it near the keyhole. Here you will be able to store your small items like waller or small sundry things. So mainly there is a dig in the practicality. Though the machine and adjustable brake levers do make up to a small extent for the same.
The praisePro has been acquiring twin shock absorbers with dual-tube technology at the rear and telescopic suspension placed at thereat. Apart from the same, this scooter has 90/90-12 tubeless tyres which are present at both ends along with the disc brakes too.
The PraisePro gets a 1000 watt brushless DC or BLDC motor. It is waterproof and tends to generate a peak power of 2,500 watts. There is a 2 kWh lithium-ion battery. It further offers a range of 88 km in Sports model. When it comes to Economy mode, it offers 110 km as per the ARAI. The top speed is the Sports mode.

If you are willing to see the patch of the speed, PraisePro is restricted to 35 kmph in the Economy mode. On the other hand, it reaches up to 65-70 kmph when it comes to the sports mode. If you want the burst of the speed, push to the turbo button. It will further push you to a speed of 75 kmph. And also, that is the speed that is also shown in the display. But in a real case, it could be pretty less than that.
While you are riding on Okinawa PraisePro, you might have a chance to get through one point to the other at a comfortable pace. As long as you are riding in the range of between 30-55 kmph, you are good to go. The occasional use of the turbo button will further allow you to overtake slow-moving vehicles.
Going at a speed might be a problem. You will get stuck with the slower lot when you are going to ride on the city roads. If you are in a rush, you will have to go for another mode of transportation. It is a light scooter and filtering through traffic is kind of easy but does not feel like a chore.
The riding position feels a little cramped which we have mentioned before. It is all because the floorboard is too high and more often than not, your knees will be hitting your elbows. Taller riders will have too much of a problem with the same.
We hoped the suspension would have been a little bit of software. The ride experience is kind of bouncy and even small speed bump or pothole will give you a jarring ride experience. Apart from all of this, the ride is decent enough.
Having a price of Rd 71,990 ex-showroom in Delhi, the Okinawa PraisePro scooter is pretty expensive. You will be taken aback if you get to know that the battery costs nearly Rd 45,065. So when it comes to electric 2 wheelers, it is the battery that forms the biggest cost of the component of any of the electric 2 wheeler.
The running cost will be on the other hand, lower than those of any petrol-powered scooters. They offer decent performance. This means that PraisePro is an okayish option for the first-timers, teens and elderly people. It can easily manage a daily commute of 40 kms. Again, taking the battery out, charging it and putting it back will be a heck of time-consuming factors as its weight is nearly 14 kgs.
