Already revealing the first look in IBW 2019, 790 Adventure is all set to be available in the Indian market by 2020.
According to sources and other platforms, there has been aired news of KTM launching its new adventure edition in India in the upcoming year. The date was not even fixed back then but it surely did garner many eyeballs. As per Autocar India, they have revealed India latest bike news for KTM to launch 790 Adventure in India around the end of 2020.
Well, before the launch, the first look of the new KTM 790 adventure was spotted in 2019 IBW held in Goa. The brand has released the first teaser of the Adventure series in 2019 but created no paparazzi for gaining the attention of the Indian market. They have been tight-lipped for quite a while now. On the other hand, KTM has been putting their full focus on the development and enhanced production on the 790 Duke.
The 790 Duke has been doing considerable pretty well in the Indian market. Imported from Austria, this bike model is known as the “sport-naked sibling” of 790 Adventure. Sources reveal the KTM could have easily introduced or launched 790 Adventure through CKD route. But KTM has its full aim on gaining the localised version of the 790 Duke that launched earlier this year.
Having a good connecting in the Indian market, they are paving their way in a more secure way before the launch of the 790 Adventure. It is visible that KTM is up for the BS6 complaint upgrade to its 790 Duke. Enhancement in the techniques and modernization with the upgrades might wave the price down in comparison to the current one. The present price of the bike is Rs 8.69 lakh (ex-showroom).
As the new 790 Duke is getting localise, the price might get reduced. The confirmation has not come into display. On the other hand, the 790 Adventure, if localised, may become more expensive than the current 790 Duke in the market.
Powered with 799cc, the new 790 Adventure bike has been taking up the design structure from its 1290 Adventure. You will be able to find certain modifications in this new bike though.
It is a parallel-twin range supporting 88Nm of torque. The engine formulation is just the same as the 790 Duke. Furthermore, the engine gets a certain enhancement to meet the “Adventure” structure and requirements.
Coming with a six-speed gearbox, it has got twin braking hardware of 320 mm discs at the front and 260mm situated at the rear.
Suspension duties on the 790 Adventure are mainly tied through a 43mm adjustable mono-shock which is already preloaded. Seating arrangement is not that big whereas the weight is quite managed. The fuel tank of the bike has the capacity to hold nearly 20 litres.
The Adventure version has got 4 riding modes – Street, Off-road, Rain and Rally. The wheel size of the front and rear is 21-inch and 18-inch respectively. It also has the specification of dual-purpose tyres to handle any form of terrain.
Speaking on the price range, the same bike in the United Kingdom is priced at £11,099 which is Rs 9.72 lakh in Indian currency. We further can expect that the all-new 790 Adventure will come at a little lower price to give direct competition to its tough competitors like Honda and BMW.
