The Japanese Premium motorcycle manufacturer Kawasaki has been working on the development of an electric motorcycle. And seems that it has finally come up with the Ninja badge upon launch. The sources have been revealed from a media report.
The Senior Manager of the Innovation Department division at Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd, Yoshimoto Matsuda along with his team has been working on the electric motorcycles since the 2000s.
The brand has teased a test mule in a video that showcases the launch of the upcoming electric Ninja. As Kawasaki hints, the electric motorcycle is going to be fun to control. Not only this, exciting features will be a reflection of the passion of the brand.
When you see the video, you will be able to see that it is hinted where Kawasaki is testing the electric powertrain on a 2017 Ninja 650. Not only this, the details further state that this powertrain has not been clear enough yet.
The media report quoted, Yoshimoto, who said, “We have been thoroughly studying and patenting features ranging from packaging and chassis geometry to transmissions and thumb brake activated energy recovery systems.”
Speaking of the test mule, there has been a range of 100 Km. The production model, on the other hand, is likely to be showcased with an improved range. Furthermore, the launch date of the electric Kawasaki Ninja, the motorcycle is likely to come up sometime early in the next decade.
